Borussia Dortmund Vs Atletico Madrid

Borussia Dortmund Storm into Champions League Semi-Finals

Black and Yellows Thrash Atletico Madrid 5-2 on Aggregate

A Thrilling Second-Leg Seals Victory

Borussia Dortmund have reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 11 years, after a thrilling 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday night. The Black and Yellows had held a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg, but they dominated Atletico at home to secure a 5-2 aggregate triumph.

Dortmund stormed out of the blocks and took the lead in the 27th minute, when Karim Adeyemi finished a flowing move. Jude Bellingham doubled their advantage shortly after the half-hour mark, making it 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate. Atletico pulled a goal back through a Mario Hermoso header just before half-time, but Dortmund restored their two-goal cushion with a penalty from Marco Reus in the second half.

Atletico kept fighting and pulled another goal back through a Antoine Griezmann strike, but it was Dortmund who had the last laugh. With just minutes remaining, Alexander Isak sealed the victory with a brilliant solo goal. The win sends Dortmund into the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2013, where they will face either Chelsea or Real Madrid.
