Bogdanovic, Jokic hold off South Sudan, pull Greece & Serbia into QFs
Four teams have secured the final spots for the men's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, which were decided at the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.
PARIS 2024 - Four teams have secured their spots in the men's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 following the conclusion of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Belgrade, Belgrade and Kaunas, Lithuania.
Serbia booked their berth thanks in part to Bogdan Bogdanovic's 26 points and Nikola Jokic's 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The Serbs overcame a gallant effort from South Sudan, who were led by Nuni Omot's 34 points, in the first semi-final.
Greece joined their Balkan rivals in the last eight after a hard-fought win over Turkey, with Giannis Antetokounmpo dominating the boards and finishing with a 19-point, 18-rebound double-double.
Meanwhile in Kaunas, Canada and Italy both claimed their spots with contrasting victories over Slovenia and Puerto Rico.
Canada were impressive as they stunned the Slovenes, who had previously knocked out world champions Germany in the previous round.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the way for the Canadians with 28 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander chipped in with 18 and Luguentz Dort added 17.
Italy were also impressive in their victory over Puerto Rico, with Nicolo Melli leading the way with 26 points and Simone Fontecchio adding 18.
The eight teams that have qualified for the men's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 are:

The teams will be divided into two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
The men's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 will be held from July 26 to August 10.
